Because you are wearing this holster inside your pants or shorts, ideally you want to find a holster that not only protects the gun, but also protects your skin from the sharp areas of the gun. It doesn't feel too good to have a hammer with thumb ridges scraping your skin all day long.

Of course, the deeper the concealment of a holster, often the more difficult it is to get the gun out of the holster and present it. With an IWB holster this can be true, but i've found that it only ads a fraction of a second over a more traditional outside the pants holster. The extra time is to get a good purchase on the gun (good hold). Since the gun rides even closer to your body (more concealable) it is also a little more difficult to get your thumb around the backstrap of the pistol.
